Cameroon's police say that at least 20 bodies have been found in the regional capital of Maroua after two young girls apparently blew themselves up in a busy marketplace and a popular neighborhood.
A source close to the local government told the AFP that the girls blew themselves up as they were begging in the central market.
Police officer Eric Bambue said the toll could rise as the search for bodies continues.
Cameroon, which borders Nigeria and has contributed troops to the multinational force fighting the Boko Haram rebels there, has been attacked twice before by suicide bombers.

According to Cameroonian businessman Ousmaila Toukour, hundreds more people were wounded.
